Column Cladding – Create a Large Section Solid Wood Look

With an increase in the use of natural timber cladding, designers are searching for ways to create larger columns and beams with a solid wood look.

In most instances it is not practical to create such a look with solid wood, the section sizes are simply not available.

Abodo’s Vulcan is available in sections up to 290 x 140mm, but for larger sections, it is possible to develop column cladding details.

Column cladding is where a steel, concrete or engineered wood substrate is clad with thinner decorative size to create a solid look.

Abodo has developed a number of systems to clad beams and columns, contact the Abodo Technical team.

The project above in New Delhi, India has been clad in Vulcan, prefinished in Protector Oil Teak.
