Recently in London our UK team hosted a series of CPD accredited events.

Throughout May and June Abodo held a series of events for London based architects, bringing together industry experts who shared their wealth of knowledge and lead insightful conversations on the future of timber.

The in-person events were an extension to Abodo’s popular CPD webinar series “Designing for a Better Tomorrow”, giving attendees the chance to pose questions to the experts and network with peers.

The Future of Wood

The first event held as part of Clerkenwell Design Week was led by Abodo’s UK Area Manager Lewis Marshall, who presented an in-depth look into The Future of Wood and the benefits of thermal modification. This included how it boosts human health and biodiversity, as well as practical understandings around carbon reduction and durability.

Quiz and Fizz

The evening event was co-hosted by Waugh Thistleton Architects, in their London offices, and presented in partnership with Abodo’s Architectural Distribution Partner Russwood. It was an engaging and insightful evening where the panelists explored how sustainable timber use and circular design principles can shape the future of architecture. This was followed by a fun pop quiz on these learnings, bolstered by glasses of bubbles.

If Timber Could Talk

Abodo partnered with Russwood and Autex Acoustics to host a panel titled If Timber Could Talk, which was scheduled in the official programme for the London Festival of Architecture. Moderated by Simon Corbey, CEO at Alliance for Sustainable Building Products, the panel experts were from a range of timber and design industries, they explored everything from circularity to the importance of emotional connections with timber.
